Committee of Vice-Chancellors Convention 2026

Above are images and pictures of the on-going 32nd annual convention of the Committee of Vice Chancellors in Nigeria. The convention which started today, Tuesday, 18th August 2026, with an opening ceremony held at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State is expected to round up on Thursday 20th August, 2026. The annual gathering brings together Vice-Chancellors and other key stakeholders in the Nigerian university system to deliberate on critical issues affecting university education, institutional development, research, innovation and the future of higher education in Nigeria. As part of activities marking the convention, the participating Vice-Chancellors were hosted by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, who received them and welcomed them to the state. The participation of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Faruk Rashid Haruna, in this prestigious national gathering provides another opportunity for the Federal University of Education Kontagora to engage with other universities, exchange ideas and contribute to discussions on the advancement of university education in Nigeria.
